What Blue Wave products are being recalled?

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Blue Wave is voluntarily recalling all above-ground pool models 48 inches and taller that have compression straps that surround the outside of the pool legs, which a child may use as a foothold to gain access to the pool, posing a drowning risk. Please stop using these recalled models immediately until you have installed the repair kit and removed the compression strap. The below models are being recalled:

When were the recalled products sold? 

The products included in this recall were sold in the U.S. from January 2021 through July 2025.

How and where were the recalled products sold?

The recalled pools were sold at stores nationwide, including The Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Dunham’s Sports (among others).  They were also sold online at Amazon.com, Wayfair.com, and Walmart.com.

How do I know if my pool is included in this recall?

If you have a Blue Wave pool that is over 48 inches in height that contains compression straps, it is included in this recall. Model information is printed on the original box and on the instruction manual and the Blue Wave logo is printed on the liner on the outside of the pool.

I’ve determined my pool is a recalled model. What are my options?

We want to send you a free repair kit for your above-ground pool. This repair kit consists of a rope that attaches to each of the vertical support poles at the ground level and wraps around the pool. The rope will maintain the structural integrity of the pool (a function previously served by the compression strap). This repair kit is designed to be easy to install.  

Is my pool safe to continue using while I await the repair kit?

No. While you wait for your repair kit, ensure that children cannot access the pool unattended. Alternatively, consider draining the pool until the repair kit can be installed.

Additionally, you should always take precautions set out in CPSC’s Pool Safely guidelines at www.PoolSafely.gov to ensure that children cannot access the pool without parental supervision. This includes removing pool ladders and any other objects near the pool, such as patio furniture. Also, ensure all required and recommended barriers are closed and locked.

How long will it take for my repair kit to arrive?

Repair kits will be shipped via Federal Express or USPS depending on location. Typically, you can expect to receive your kit within 5–10 business days from the date of confirmation. If there are no repair kits immediately available, Blue Wave will take your information and notify you as soon as a kit becomes available and has shipped.

Can’t I just cut the strap to continue using the pool?

No. The strap maintains structural integrity and helps the legs of the pool remain upright. The strap should only be cut after the repair kit is installed.
